Daily X-Word ("we", "us", or "our") is a free daily crossword puzzle game available on the web and iOS. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Information We Collect

When you sign in, we collect:

Name and email address — provided by Google or Apple when you sign in. Used to display your name on leaderboards and identify your account.
Game data — your puzzle completion times and streak counts. Stored in our database and used to power leaderboards and streak tracking.

We do not collect location data, payment information, health data, or any other personal information.

How We Use Your Information

To save your game progress, streaks, and completion times across devices
To display leaderboards showing your first name and last initial
To send optional daily reminder notifications (iOS only, if you grant permission)

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google) — database and hosting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Sign in with Google — authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Sign in with Apple — authentication. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained for as long as you use the app. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app — tap "Delete Account" on the home screen. You may also contact us at the email below to request deletion, and we will process it within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Daily X-Word is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
